Natalie Watkins
Clinical Research Associate
Natalie Watkins is a Clinical Research Associate with a background in genetics and nutritional sciences. Fueled by a passion for improving human health through evidence-based research, she draws from her experience in designing, implementing, and managing scientific studies to guide and enhance her efforts at CovarsaDx.
Prior to joining the CovarsaDx team, Natalie developed two primary study designs at Dell Pediatric Research Institute, overseeing project management initiatives, budget, documentation, and data management.
As a CRA, Natalie performs key functions, including site selection, initiation, monitoring, and close out visits. She is the main line of communication with her study sites, managing ongoing project expectations and helping to resolve any issues the sites might encounter. She creates and maintains site management and monitoring documentation, as well as working closely with the Clinical Trial Manager/Project Manager in drafting and reviewing protocols and clinical study reports.
Natalie obtained a B.S. in Evolutionary Biology from Tulane University and holds a Master’s degree in Nutritional Sciences from The University of Texas at Austin where she gained two Young Investigator Awards for her work in Vitamin D metabolism and calcium absorption. Natalie served as the Director of Programming for the Nutrition Graduate Student Administration, as the Personnel Manager of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Fraternity and as a Chapter Representative for the Alpha Kappa Psi Principled Business Leaders Institute.
